One of the very first Prophecy releases re-issued

This self-titled, five-song mini album was not only Oberon's first professional effort, but ranked among the very first releases by Prophecy Productions when it came out in 1997. The long since sold-out CD is now re-issued as a digipak and contains the songs from the very rare demo "Through Time And Space" as well as the so-far unreleased track "Ruins And Angels" as a bonus plus an expanded booklet with liner notes and unpublished photos from the early days of Oberon.

Oberon's return to Prophecy

In 1997, Oberon's self-titled mini album was one of the very first releases by Prophecy Productions. Now, after two full-length albums ("Mysteries" in 1998 and "Anthem" in 2001) as well as a single ("Big Brother", 2000), which were self-released by the artist, some musical explorations under the monicker of Future Whirl and a long-term creative hiatus, Oberon is back with his first album in 13 years. "Dream Awakening" is a journey through a diverse and imaginative musical landscape full of contrasts, emotions and mystical symbolism, blending New Artrock with Avantgarde Pop and even elements of Neofolk. More than a year in the making, the album is conceptually characterized by the image of the Phoenix and tells the story of the soul's path towards awakening - of man's struggle to gain self-knowledge.

Oberon's debut album re-issued

"Mysteries" is Oberon's debut and was released in 1998 by creative mainman Bard Oberon on his own label. The by now sought-after work gets its deserved re-issue treatment with lush bonus material: The new edition of "Mysteries" comes as a double-CD in digipak format and contains the songs from the vinyl single "Big Brother" (2000), the very rare and experimental Oberon album "Anthem" (2001) as well as three so far unreleased tracks. The expanded booklet features extensive liner notes and copious photo material.

Founded in 1994 by Bard Oberon as a vehicle for his lifelong studies in hermeticism and rosicrucianism, gnostic spirituality, natural magic and the forces that move civilization, Oberon is a project meant to explore the inner process of human destiny. Deeply philosophical by nature, the music of Oberon can best be classified as Gnostic Rock.

Four years after "Dream Awakening", Oberon's first album in the new millennium, his latest work "Aeon Chaser" sees the light of day. Here we are enticed to enter Oberon's darkly romantic world, blending dark wave, bombastic rock and neo-folk elements into a majestic, haunting and melancholic sound that knows no boundaries. Being Oberon's first studio recording with a full band, "Aeon Chaser" is fueled by new creative energies. These are best conveyed through songs like "Lost Souls", "Omega", "Walk In Twilight" and "The Secret Fire" which add a heavier, band oriented feel to Oberon's musical palette. Still there are solemn and wistful tunes like "Laniakea", "Worlds Apart" or "To Live To Die" harkening back to Oberon's early works from the 1990s. "'Aeon Chaser' is about the dark night of the soul," the artist explains. "It is when you are tested that you know what you are made of. Whether you survive depends on your will to keep going, and the clarity of your convictions."

With "Aeon Chaser" proving to be one of Oberon's strongest albums to date, it signals a new dawn for the Norwegian singer/songwriter and his cohorts. "'Aeon Chaser' is a new beginning," Bard Oberon comments. "I am proud of this record, and I hope people will enjoy it. For us, it's a great basis from which to build into the future, and keep making great records that will reach across the board and stand the test of time."
