With their EP "To the Stars", BEBORN BETON follow directly in the wake of their ninth album "Darkness Falls Again". With three new tracks and four remixes, the German synth pop trio is widening the musical range of the album, while staying true to its spirit both in lyrical content and music. There is more than one way to listen to BEBORN BETON's ninth album "Darkness Falls Again": it is possible to just dance and enjoy contemporary synth pop hymns that have a solid musical base in the golden 80s with a dash of cool 90s influences. Catchy tunes and mature songwriting combine to form a sonic joyride. Yet BEBORN BETON also put their finger right on the pulse of our time and speak out against misogyny, sexual discrimination, and environmental destruction. BEBORN BETON were founded by vocalist Stefan Netschio, keyboard player and drummer Stefan Tillmann, and keyboard player Michael Wagner in 1989. The trio set out with the declared aim to keep synth pop relevant and give it meaning. Following their first two regular albums "Tybalt" (1993) and "Concrete Ground" (1994), BEBORN BETON joined renowned acts such as WOLFSHEIM and DE/VISION in a new label home. Having conquered Germany, the three electro-musicians rapidly expanded their realm abroad with the 1996 full-length "Nightfall", followed by "Truth" in 1997, and "Fake" (1999) that gained the Germans international acclaim by critics and fans alike. By the time, "Rückkehr zum Eisplaneten" ('Return to the Ice-Planet') was released in 2000, BEBORN BETON had firmly positioned themselves as a headlining act within their scene and toured all the strongholds of electronic music. Yet heavy touring and the highly demanding creative output of so many excellent albums in quick succession took their toll. After the release of "Tales from Another World" (2002) and an exhausting US tour, BEBORN BETON went on an extended hiatus. 13 years later, BEBORN BETON returned with a new album on Dependent Recordings to the delight and surprise of their still huge following. "A Worthy Compensation" (2015) was showered with accolades from the relevant magazines. Having learned from previous experiences and not to fall back into a relentless production cycle, BEBORN BETON took their time to write another masterpiece. "Darkness Falls Again" has all the ingredients that make synth pop great. Catchy songs that make the legs twitch, a dash of melancholy, a pinch of irony, and a knife-tip of anger – music with a meaning. SO HERE WE ARE, FINALLY, PRESENTING YOU WITH THE BEST ALBUM WE WILL PROBABLY EVER MAKE.

The liner notes of "A Worthy Compensation", Beborn Beton's first album since 1999, speak volumes. Such self-confidence is not common for a band that has been silent for so long, yet insinuates that they have by no means been idle in the meantime.
When Beborn Beton's contract with their old label Strangeways was fulfilled at the turn of the millennium, the trio could realign freely. At that point the Essen-based group of Stefan Netschio (vocals), Michael Wagner (electronics) and Stefan Tillmann (programming, electronics) had established themselves as a successful act between electronic Pop and EBM, touring both in Europe as well as North America with hits such as ‚Another World', ‚Lost', ‚Little Robot' or ‚Torture'.
During the following break, they made a plan: to create an album without compromises in terms of composition and production. When this vision became reality, Beborn Beton showed a degree of consistency that, in hindsight, deserves respect. It took them more than seven years to work on new songs without cutting back on quality, carefully searching for an apt engineer and studio producer. Eventually and with the help of Olaf Wollschläger (u.a. MESH, Yello, In Strict Confidence, Seabound), they made an effort that displays maturity in all aspects and achieves the goal they had set for themselves.

"A Worthy Compensation" is a masterpiece of electronic pop - deep, timeless and melancholic with some well-dosed pathos. Songs and lyrics get under the skin in the long run, not least thanks to Olaf Wollschläger, who emphasises their strengths in an exceptional manner.
As for the album's lyrical content, the band says the following:
The carousel of life. The highs, the lows. The happy moments. The hardships:
"A WORTHY COMPENSATION… WHAT IS THAT? IT CAN MEAN DIFFERENT THINGS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. BASICALLY, IT IS A REWARD FOR A TASK, A BURDEN OR A PAINFUL TIME YOU HAD TO GO THROUGH. SOMETHING THAT MAKES UP FOR AN EFFORT YOU MADE. SOMETHING YOU LOOK FORWARD TO WHEN TIMES ARE NOT SO BRIGHT.
FOR US IT IS THE GIFT OF BEING ABLE TO TRAVEL THE WORLD WITH FRIENDS AND PERFORM ON STAGE WHEREVER PEOPLE WANT US TO. IT IS ALSO THE JOY OF STILL BEING ABLE TO WRITE GREAT SONGS. OF GETTING BACK OUR CREATIVE FLOW WHEN WE THOUGHT WE HAD NOTHING MORE TO SAY."
The album is immediately accessible but reveals its entire potential only after repeated listenings. Also, the band harks back to its stylistic past despite the long pause. Due to Stefan Netschio's trademark voice and Stefan Tillmann's nifty songwriting, each track conveys a unique atmosphere without sounding rushed or forced - a rare thing for music from this genre. In this way, Beborn Beton naturally bridge the gap between the 1980s and current productions.
This is the stuff masterpieces are made of.

It took Beborn Beton 9 years to complete their best album to date, A Worthy Compensation. Released in late 2015, it was hailed as a Synthpop masterpiece in industrial and electronic music scenes and scored some wealthy results in various "Best Of 2015" lists and high charts listings. Now they have come up with an equally ambitious follow-up remix mini album, which features "She Cried", one of the centre pieces of the album in various remixes, plus an assortment of remixes from various tracks of their killer comeback album: 24/7 mystery remixed by Val Solo of S.P.O.C.K., a Daniel Myer (of haujobb, Covenant)-remix of "Who Watches The Watchmen?", and to top it off an amazing cover version of Human League's "The Black Hit Of Space" which combines 80ies electronic retro charme with today's production skills. Also featured is Beborn Beton producer wizard Olaf Wollschläger who also produced the dynamic club version of "She Cried".
If "A Worthy Compensation" was a worthy comeback album, then this is an equally worthy Remix E.P., to be released on September 9th 2016, available in CD and limited edition Vinyl format. We like!
